Great Big God.

Yet again I stand in awe. Gods provision and timing is incredible. Late last week we were fully funded for our trip to Ethiopia. I say that with a very humble heart. The tears flowed as Gods provision was so beautifully displayed in His perfect timing by so many different people, vessels fit for His service to bless us in such a tangible way. God is SO SO good and may He receive ALL the glory.

I'm so thankful and humbled that He chose me to be able to walk out this incredible mission. To love on orphans, to share with others I love so dearly the beauty of Ethiopia. I'm leveled thinking of my young daughter walking the streets of Addis with her daddy and I. I pray for her heart, I pray for a certain "wrecking" in her soul, that a fire is lit within her at a young age to be passionate about loving others well. Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Matthew 6:25 We are so excited to see what God has in store.

There are some other pretty amazing God stories that have happened recently that you should also check out. Our pastor and his wife are adopting from Ethiopia. So are some others in their family and we were privileged to meet them over the holidays. Little did we know that they already "knew" us through blogs. Only God.
Check out the Walser Blog for more on that story. I spent some time talking to Em yesterday, always a joy to catch up with her. You might want to hop on over to her block to read about baby Abe and the faith of a child.

When I sit back and reflect on all that the Lord has done for us in such a short period of time and the INCREDIBLE things he's doing in others lives as well I can't help but praise Him. The one who makes ALL things possible in His time.

In praising Him we are fully aware of the spiritual warfare that goes along with living a life devoted to our King. David and I prayed against exactly that going into the home stretch of this trip but we also knew it would hit. I am a planner so I do much better planning on something happening then being surprised. I wasn't surprised when my oldest daughters asthma started acting up on Monday. I wasn't surprised when my youngest son came down with strep throat. I wasn't surprised this morning when Skyler came in right before my run and promptly puked. Time for Drs. appt. #3 for this week and I'm sure he'll also have strep. I just received a phone call from Rachel who is also going on the trip and her youngest is also sick. Pray for us. Pray for the team and pray that satan would be BOUND.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

Ephesians 6:10-20
