A year in review

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. 1 Peter 3:18

January marked a new begining. Silas officially became a Shubin. We began our packing for the trip to Ethiopia. We met sweet Ruhama, Silas' friend from HOH.
In February we brought Silas home from Ethiopia. Our lives were forever changed by what we saw and the people we met while staying in this beautiful country.

I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. Isaiah 43:5

The rest of February and March are a blur as we adjusted to our new family. Lots of playing outside and just getting to know eachother. David travelled a whole bunch and I survived single motherhood. ;)

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. II Corinthians 12:9

The kids modeled for a photography workshop in April

Time with Daddy and visit with Papa in May.

Silas' first time seeing the ocean, spending time with his sweet cousin, and just surviving the AZ heat.

A trip to Oregon meeting up with other ET families we waited with.

Davids youngest brother Jon married Amelia in August.

Nichol and Skyler were baptized in September.

Daddy read lots of books.

Silas celebrated his first Thanksgiving.

Our little family Christmas celebration at home. Happy Birthday Jesus!!!

And last minute David decided Silas needed to spend his first Christmas with his entire family. So we quickly packed up the car and headed up to Oregon. Yep, in the middle of the snow storm. Silas saw his first snow and slept through his first family Christmas due to a fever. More on that in another post. I'm a bit behind. But here are a few pictures.

The beautiful NW!

All that travel to see the COUSINS united! Totally worth it!

But yes it was VERY cold!

Snow ball fights at Davids grandparents farm.

Our little snow angel! He loved it!

An absolutely BEAUTIFUL Christmas day!

From our family to yours, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Our prayer is that we will all strive to be more like Jesus in the coming year.

The LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.
Numbers 6:24-26
