This is kind of an interesting topic to blog about but I can't not.
I always find it amazing how God writes peoples adoption stories. I love watching as He changes hearts, provides the funds, the perfect timing, just the right child, often a child that has similar features as you or behaves like someone in your family. We always laugh at how much Silas is like his daddy with his quick wit. We couldn't have chosen a more perfect child for our family then Silas. He's an exact fit, the missing link to our family puzzle, perfectly placed in our home forever.
Sometimes God has the perfect friends for us too. That happened recently. When I wrote this post, I was a bit uneasy about the topic yet I knew in my heart it needed to be talked about. The first comment was from Christy. Something about her comment struck a chord in me so I went to her blog, left her a comment and throughout the day we exchanged some emails getting to know one another. Ironically enough they live in Oregon near where we lived. A couple days later she sent me this email.
Oh my goodness Erica,
I was telling one of my closest friends about your family and how we get to meet you and what a God thing it was and she asked your last name. I told her and she just started laughing. My closest friend is Beth ****** who you were at the NICU with. We both got goosebumps! I cannot believe what a small world we live in!
She would love for us all to get together when you are here. They might just have to put up with a lot of adoption talk. :0) Crazy huh?!?
Some background: Olivia was born prematurely. She was placed right next to a sweet little boy with adoring parents. While singing Jesus Loves Me to her they overheard us and commented. That was the begining of a life long friendship. Now, six years, a major move, and an adoption later. They are friends of someone I met through blogger. Those friends are wanting to adopt. God saw fit for us to meet and to meet just a few short weeks before we leave for Oregon.
It never ceases to amaze me the power of the internet, the close knit group of adoptive families, Gods perfect timing, and just how much of an impact we can have on others if we'll just talk about the tough stuff, step out of our comfort zones, reach out to others and encourage them.

When will you be in Oregon?? We will be in Portland August 8-19...sure would be glorious if we were there at the same time!!
Noooo! Dang, we have been SO close to meeting so many times! (well, twice) Well, I will think of you while we are in Portland...sniff sniff. :)
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME!
I can't believe what a God thing that was! Keep praying for Jeff, only God can tip him over that fence! :0)
Wow, that is amazing Erica... really!
Not to mention the really amazing and surprisingly normal people you meet online. ;)
:)
Will miss you this weekend friend!!
I like to call those glory bumps! They are great to see God working in your life, down to the very last detail. When will you be in Oregon? We are in Washington, it would be fun to meet you too!
You're quite popular! :0)
i love that about our Lord, the way He crosses paths then twist them together - Beautiful story - love it!
Like everyone else, apparently, I'm wondering when you'll be in OR. We're only 1/2 hr. north of Portland. Let us know. We've been crazy busy, but hopefully Aug. will be a LITTLE slower. We've got family coming in and out quite a bit and Jeremy's got at least one weekend cordoned off for an out-of-town adventure, but we'd definitely like to see you if we can work it out.
I just sent you an email.
That is awesome post... God bumps is the perfect title!
