We're Headed Home!

Its true! As I write this post we are sitting in the Addis Ababa airport waiting for our flight. Exactly 28 days after arriving in Addis we are coming home WITH our daughter! God's mercy and favor has allowed us to be at this point. We are so incredibly grateful.

Our children stateside have been incredible. They are troopers and understand sacrifice on a whole new level. Being separated from your parents for a month isn't easy. Knowing that it was all for the good of their sister kept them going. We cannot wait to have our family all under one roof.

A HUGE Thank you to my in-laws, especially my mother in law for keeping our kids. The sacrifice to care for their beloved grandchildren has blessed us beyond measure. We never once worried about them or their care and that made it so much easier. To all of their loving aunts and uncles for helping to pass the time, spoil them and even celebrate Olivia's 9th birthday in a BIG way means so much. THANK YOU!!

As for the littlest Shubin - she is AMAZING! Truly an incredible gift. I told David on our second day with Zahra that I couldn't believe we got to do this. To parent this precious child. To bring her into our family. To love her forever. Prior to meeting our sweet daughter everyone that met her said she was sweet. I can't think of a better way to describe our girl. She is just precious. I may be biased but sweet is the best way to describe her. She's quiet and calm. Smart as a whip and repeats everything we say. She loves her daddy, playing ball, blowing bubbles, and all things girlie. She's already gotten into my make-up, carries her doll everywhere (Yes Melissa she's in love with her little soft baby) and loves purses. Pink appears to be her favorite color, she's curious and gentle, loves to hold your hand, and to be carried. We are blessed beyond measure and so grateful for our little girl.

To each and every one of you that helped to bring our daughter home: Thank you doesn't even begin to express the gratitude of our hearts. I'm leveled to tears when I reflect on the past 13 months. God's provision, this journey, and each one of you that has been apart of Zahra's story, God's story and the story He continues to write in our lives and the life of our little girl.

I can't get pictures to load, we do have lots up on Facebook though. :)

Thanks for praying!! We're heading home!!!

I guess the last mountain to move on that side of reuniting is customs, but that's nothing for our God...praying for you as you meet up with your peeps very soon and begin to meld together as a WHOLE family! Rachel is my designated hugger so make sure you collect a hug from me via her ;-).
