Exceedly More Then We Ask

I can't think of a better title for this post. At the beginning of our facebook fund raiser it was rather slow I became discouraged and even questioned God on His timing. I guess I had in my head that this was going to be "easy" in a way because God wouldn't call us to something He didn't already have figured out. Silly me! Hello! Why would I think this would be easy? When we adopted Silas smack in the middle David lost his job. Of course this wouldn't be easy! What was I thinking?! We didn't have to fund raise with Silas' adoption, the Lord used other means to provide. That's not the case this time around and it's a humbling place to be. For some reason it's easier to encourage others, to fund raise for others, and to rejoice when the Lord provides. I'm ashamed to say I lost focus for a wee moment.

It was a HUGE wake up call as I sat discouraged and poured my heart out to the Lord. He gave me several passages of scripture reminding me that this was His adoption and He would provide in His perfect timing. This verse in Psalm 118 really leveled me - the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. That truly is my heart, He has called us to adopt again and we count it an honor and a privilege. I don't ever want to lose sight of that. He is going to provide, He is going to work in the hearts of His people, and He is going to work in our hearts as we trust in Him and work towards bringing our daughter home.

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

I posted a blog in the middle of my struggling and the response from my sisterhood of adoptive mamas was AMAZING. Exactly what I needed to hear at exactly the right time. Nothing was worth more then the sweet messages and encouragement each of you brought to my heart.
I felt a little small in my lack of faith this early in the game and I'm so thankful for Gods gentle reminder that He's in charge and I am not. I needed to go through this refining to prepare for what's ahead. (I'm sure there will be many more moments of refining to look forward to)
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19

During my moments of struggling the Lord used many of you to encourage and send ideas of how the Lord has brought you through the fund raising to having your children HOME! I was so very blessed by each of you and I am so thankful.
On top of that the Lord was speaking to others about helping in the financial aspect of our adoption. With the help from ALL of you the facebook-a-thon raised..................
$1460

That's amazing. I was left humbled at what the Lord had done DESPITE my questioning. We are still shy of what we need to finish out this phase of the paper chase but I know God will provide every last bit in His perfect time! Thank you to each of you for your encouragement, love, and continued support as we inch closer to bringing our precious daughter home.
Glory to the King!

There are always those stories out there about the person who says they feel called to adopt and somebody whips out their checkbook to cover the expenses, but generally speaking you gotta be green, tired, and experience some aches and pains in the process of "pregnancy"...and then there's labor...but it is all from the Lord who loves us and is making us more and more like Jesus! One day at a time, Sister...and EVERYDAY His grace is sufficient! I loved hearing your heart in this post! A heart that loves and trusts her Father, not perfectly but growingly...I'm pleased to have you as my friend and fellow encourager this side of glory.
