And this says it all....

I just read my friend Emily's blog right after I posted this. I agree that this show was a little too focused on Idol and not enough on the people who were truly in need. I wanted to see more of Africa, the sisters in Ethiopia, I have to say I was a little disappointed. None the less I hope they raise even more money then last year.

I missed the end of the show because of stinkin tivo but I did find the video on youtube after my friend asked if I saw the last song. AMAZING that was allowed on primetime. To God Be The Glory!!

Hello! ... happy to have found your new blog "home". :) Great seeing you all settling in as a family so well. I still remember connecting with you earlier on in the process when you wondered just who the child was God was bringing into your family. So fun seeing you all together!!! We are FINALLY preparing to travel! We could not be happier about it. Blessings~ Shelly

I too was surprised they used that song but I also noticed they sang "My Shephard" instead of "My Jesus" and then they took out some of the words the second time they sang the verse. I love this song though I still enjoyed hearing it. I didn't see the whole show just the last half and I too was surprised that they didn't show as much about Africa as they did last year.

I've seen your blog a few times and it's great to hear from you. Thanks for the encouragement!

I agree about Idol. We were pretty disappointed in it b/c we felt like it focused on celebrities rather than what's really going on. But, we also hope that they are able to do amazing things with the money raised and that in the end God's glory is revealed :)!

I didn't think this year was as good as last year's show either. I was hoping for some more videos so people could put faces with the problems in Africa. I was thinking though how much money it cost to just put on a show like that. "Entertainment" makes me sick. But I hope that some people were inspired to give. I liked the bit on volunteerism. That is something we all can do more of!

it did give me chill bumps when I heard it ... i was disappointed that the song was followed by Ben Stiller cussing up a storm ...

I was also hoping for more footage of those Idol Gives Back was helping ...

i too missed the final song because of the DVR. Weird. I watched it on you tube too and then they sang it again last night, so that was nice. Yes, too much about hollywood fame this year. Yes, I wish there would have been more stories on Africa.
I am about to email the code....

ooh we are so top secret with our code talk.
